History
Microcom Corporation traces its history back to its founding in 1982 as a reseller/integrator of thermal printer solutions for a wide range of customers. As its systems integration experience grew, the company recognized niche markets not being served by other thermal printer manufacturers. As a result, Microcom began developing its own line of specialized barcode label thermal and kiosk printers and expanded its corporate headquarters to include a 30,000 square foot design and manufacturing facility.
In 2002 the management team focused the company on niche label printer markets not dominated by incumbents, and positioned it for tremendous growth. Then in 2006, Microcom acquired Unimark Products to increase revenue and broaden its product offering.
Today, Microcom is a well-respected bar code label printer supplier to many companies including the United States Postal Service, Hertz, and Delta Airlines.
