The 438 Postal was created to be an inexpensive printer able to withstand the rigors of high-volume label and ticket printing operations at large or small mail presort facilities. Tailored specifically for the Intelligent Mail Tray Label and 24-digit Enhanced Distribution Label (EDL) on the USPS Atlas System, the 438 Postal offers user friendly design for easy cleaning, routine maintenance and printer service or repair.

NOTE: You must first install the FTDI USB Driver before using the USB port on the X38 Series printers.


 
Connecting printer & powering it on will cause OS to search for appropriate driver. | If OS is unable to find the driver, follow instructions below to manually install the driver.

 
  Quick Steps:
 
  1. If using the USB port; Connect and power on the printer.

  2.  
  3. If the Operating System fails to install the USB driver, run the CDM20814_Setup.exe (FTDI USB Driver) to manually install the USB port.

  4.  
  5. Once the FTDI USB Driver is installed, disconnect the USB and then reconnect it before installing the Windows Print Driver.

  6.  
  7. If using the Windows printer driver, please run the Microcom Print Driver installer; Setup-2.X.X.XX.exe.
